Getting Started
How do I get an API key?
Create a free account at console.anthropic.com, go to API Keys, and generate a new key. Paste it into the field at the top of this page.
Is my key stored?
By default, no — it lives only in this browser tab's memory and is gone when you close it. If you accept local storage and choose "Remember," it is saved in your browser's local storage on this device only — never sent to or stored on our server. This is a convenience, not secure storage — anyone with access to your browser could retrieve it. Only use Remember on a personal, trusted device.
Why did a human-verification check appear?
A quick, free CAPTCHA check runs about once per hour of activity to keep the service available and prevent automated abuse. It does not track you or collect any personal information.
Is my activity logged?
Anonymously, yes — which actions were taken, whether they succeeded, and which settings were used, for debugging and usage analytics. This never includes document text, citation text, summaries, filenames, URLs, or your API key. See the License for full detail.
What does each score mean?
AI — likely AI-generated. Human — likely human-authored. Edited — AI content edited by a human, or human content with AI assistance. Unknown — origin could not be determined.
Citation Validation
Claude extracts every citation, then screens each for validity. Uncertain citations are checked against CrossRef, OpenAlex, CourtListener, and PubMed when enabled. Tags: Claude, CR CrossRef, OA OpenAlex, CL CourtListener, PM PubMed. A ? means that service found no match.
Security & Prompt Injection Detection
Every analysis is automatically checked for hidden text (e.g. Word's "vanish" formatting, CSS display:none) and for content that reads as an attempt to manipulate the analysis itself — always on, no setting to disable it. Nothing appears if nothing's found. If something is, a banner and a Security tab show exactly what was flagged. See the User Guide for full detail.
